Previously, the league revealed the “Fan Eleven,” which included Oberdan (Pohang), Lee Tae-seok (Pohang), Jeon Jin-woo (Jeonbuk), and Jo Hyeon-woo (Ulsan) — players who received the most fan votes by position, as well as Han Hyeon-seo, who was selected through the Coupang Play Young Player initiative.
Based on this lineup, Team K League head coach Kim Pan-gon and assistant coach Lee Jung-hyo selected additional players. These players were chosen for their outstanding form in each position and represent a well-balanced mix, considering both specific roles and team representation.
In attack, Brazilian duo Cesinha (Daegu) and Bruo Mota (Anyang) have been added to the squad. Cesinha recently returned from injury and marked his comeback with goals in back-to-back games. Mota, the K League 2 top scorer last season, has carried that form into K League 1 this season with over 10 goal contributions.
In midfield, Kim Dong-hyun, Luan Dias (Suwon FC), Lee Chang-min (Jeju), and Hwang Do-yoon (Seoul) have also been selected due to their stellar performances in the centre of the park this season. Kim Dong-hyun and Luan Dias narrowly missed out on the Fan Eleven but have now made the final squad. Jeju captain Lee Chang-min and Seoul’s talented young midfielder Hwang Do-yoon — considered a top Young Player candidate this season — have also been called up.
In defence, Kim Young-gwon (Ulsan), Byun Jun-soo (Gwangju), and Anton Kryvotsyuk (Daejeon) have joined up, too. Ulsan captain and former national team center-back Kim Young-gwon brings valuable experience, while Byun Jun-soo, fresh off his senior international debut, is expected to showcase his rising form. Daejeon's all-action Azerbaijan international Anton Kryvotsyuk is also expected to make his presence felt, being a threat in both boxes.
In goal, Kim Kyeong-min (Gwangju) was selected. After earning his first senior national team call-up last year, Kim continues to be Gwangju’s first-choice goalkeeper this season.
Team K League will hold fan events such as autograph sessions and meet-and-greets at the K League-Zootopia Pop-up Store at The Hyundai Seoul Department Store from July 28 (Monday) to July 29 (Tuesday), two days before the match. The highly anticipated clash between Team K League and Newcastle United will take place at 8 PM on July 30 (Wednesday) at Suwon World Cup Stadium.
