Newcastle United are watching Leeds United attacker Tyler Roberts.

The Daily Mail says the Wales international's deal expires next summer and Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa appreciates the 22-year old's versatility in being able to play as an attacking midfielder or across the frontline.

So much so, Leeds have moved to offer him a new long-term deal. Roberts came on as a substitute in Saturday's convincing 4-0 win over Burnley and has at times cut a frustrated figure at not cementing a starting place.

Newcastle are keeping an eye on the situation. They have scouted Roberts, they recognise his ability with potential to get better and know manager Steve Bruce would like to add to his British contingent.

Leeds bought Roberts from West Brom in a £2.5million deal that could rise to £4m and it is understood they value Roberts at over £10m despite the fact he only has one year left on his contract.

That price tag could yet scare off Newcastle who have a limited budget to work with but they will continue to watch Roberts's situation closely as Leeds revamp their squad this summer.
