Manchester United and Newcastle United both like him but, from what I heard, it’s still an open story.”

Mbeumo’s Impressive Form In The Premier League

Mbeumo had an impressive campaign at Brentford as he was responsible for putting in a lot of fruitful displays for them in the Premier League. The 25-year-old banged in 20 goals and grabbed nine assists in 42 matches for the Bees last season across various competitions.

The Cameroonian talent did well to average 2.08 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League and kept 43% of his attempts on target. However, he needs to improve his link-up play on the offensive end of the pitch based on his pass success rate of 66.1% in the English first division (stats via fbref.com).

His current deal at the English club will expire next summer which could give Newcastle a chance to sign him on the cheap in this transfer window.

Is Mbeumo A Decent Choice For Newcastle United?

Mbeumo is proficient at finding a yard of space for himself to get a few shots in at goal. He has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball as well.

The Cameroonian talent has proven himself to be a decent finisher in the Premier League and can also chip in by picking up his fair share of assists from the wide areas. He is primarily a right-sided winger but can also function as a centre-forward if told to do so by his manager.

Mbeumo would enhance the quality of Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe’s frontline. He is good enough to fight for a regular starting place at the Tyneside club next season.

At 25, Mbeumo has his best years ahead of him which makes him a decent choice for the Magpies to pursue in this summer transfer period. He might even help the Magpies challenge across all fronts in the coming years. With all things considered, Howe should focus on going all out to bring Mbeumo to St. James’ Park ahead of the new campaign.
