Reported Newcastle United target Aaron Ramsey will be of interest to numerous clubs despite his huge wages, according to journalist Tom Barclay.
Fresh from the club changing ownership thanks to a £305million takeover last week, Newcastle are expected to splash the cash when the transfer window reopens in January.
The Magpies have been linked with the likes of Burnley defender James Tarkowski and Manchester United quartet Anthony Martial, Jesse Lingard Donny van de Beek and Eric Bailly since the injection of cash.
Another big-name who has been reported as a potential target is Juventus central midfielder Ramsey and, according to Italian media outlet Il Bianconero, Newcastle are in pole position to sign the 69-cap Wales international.
It has also been claimed that Serie A giants Juventus are willing to let Ramsey depart on a free transfer in January, with West Ham United and Everton also interested.
Ramsey made the move to Turin after signing a £400,000-per-week deal with Juventus back in 2019, when his Arsenal contract expired.
According to a Italian outlet CalcioMercato, Crystal Palace are prepared to match Ramsey's current wages if he agrees a move to Selhurst Park in January.
Barclay believes Ramsey will be of interest to numerous clubs after falling out of favour at Juventus.
The journalist feels the 30-year-old central midfielder's performances during the international break would have caught the eye of various managers.
However, Ramsey's salary could prove to be a stumbling block for some suitors.

Barclay told GIVEMESPORT: "Aaron Ramsey is on massive wages at Juventus and he's not getting in the team.
"I think he played quite well for Wales during the international break, so he showed he's still got it.
"I think clubs would be interested."
