Newcastle retain interest in Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier | OneFootball

According to a report from The Athletic, Newcastle United still retain an interest in LOSC Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier (23) after the Magpies saw an offer rejected for Burnley’s James Trafford last week. Newcastle have been looking at alternative options, and among them is Lille keeper Chevalier – who had been the subject of interest from Paris Saint-Germain before the return to form of Gianluigi Donnarumma.In January, it was reported that Newcastle were amongst a whole host of contenders for Chevalier, including Manchester United and Manchester City, as well as PSG. Yet with Les Parisiens dropped out of a move, there could be less competition this summer. The France international hinted that he could be interested by a move to the Premier League, speaking at the UNFP awards last month. “The Premier League? It is the most attractive league. When you see Tottenham and Manchester United, who are struggling with crazy players [in their squads]… I have two years left on my contract, and you know the president (Olivier Létang) (laughs).
