Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley is frustrated by the takeover interest of Henry Mauriss.

The American TV mogul has indicated he wants to buy the player.

However, Chronicle Live suggests Ashley is not happy at the lack of conclusion to any deal.

He reportedly held talks with the American during the COVID-19 lockdown, with talk of a £350million bid with a verbal agreement emerging.

However, Ashley is waiting to see whether he can have further discussions with Mauriss about firming up those takeover plans.

So far, no next step has been taken from Mauriss or his representatives to make an offer in writing for the club.
