Newcastle only club to enter meaningful talks on Marc Guehi – Resolution one way or other this week | OneFootball

David Ornstein has proved to be easily the best source for breaking stories on Newcastle United in recent years.

The man from The Athletic says that whilst there is currently an ‘impasse’ between Newcastle United and Crystal Palace on a transfer fee for Marc Guehi, a resolution either way needs to happen, almost certainly this week.

Ornstein saying that Newcastle United have already started looking at alternatives if they can’t reach agreement with Palace.

The man from The Athletic saying he understands the current position is this on Marc Guehi:

‘Newcastle have made a series of bids for the England international, with the latest reaching £60million guaranteed plus a further £5m in add-ons. Palace, meanwhile, are holding out for around £65m plus £5m.’

David Ornstein says that whilst other clubs do admire Marc Guehi, the reality is that ‘Newcastle are the only suitor to enter meaningful talks.’

Maybe Newcastle United would be prepared to edge a little higher but having already moved so far already, over the course of four bids, surely Palace will also need to give way up to a point as well.
