Sky Sports are now reporting that despite Newcastle United doing everything they could to try and sign Benjamin Sesko, he is off to Manchester United.
Recent days had seen the situation escalate, with Newcastle United putting in an improved second bid and Man U finally putting in a formal offer of their own.
It became obvious that one of the two Premier League clubs was going to land Benjamin Sesko this week.
Now Keith Downie, who covers Newcastle United for Sky Sports, has given an update and says that his information is that whilst; “Newcastle United have tried everything to get a deal done for Benjamin Sesko, he striker clearly has his sights set on Manchester United.”
The man from Sky Sports says that Newcastle United have currently made a slightly higher bid to RB Leipzig (€80m plus add-ons – Approx £70m plus the add-ons) but that Man U are negotiating to close that gap, in order to offer the Bundesliga club an acceptable bid.
Keith Downie says that the Newcastle United offer had matched Leipzig’s valuation of Benjamin Sesko.
His understanding is that Man U had held off making a formal offer until there was a clear indication that the 22 year old wanted the move.
