Dan Burn admits Newcastle United's squad know several members will be leaving this summer.

Their 49 point tally for the campaign is the club's best effort in the top-flight since 2014. But now the task of shaping the squad will take place before Howe's holiday with meetings with players lined up this week.

Burn said: "It was brilliant and the lads were buzzing. There was also a bit of sadness because there will be a little bit of turnover in the summer.

"Some people will be leaving, some will be staying. I am buzzing for the staff who came in, and buzzing for the lads knowing how much hard work we have put in and the finish we've had."

And reflecting on the season overall, Burn said after the win at Burnley: "We're really happy, obviously from the position we were in to where we finished, to get 49 points and finish 11th is a very good season.

"We spoke beforehand about not just making it a game for Burnley but making sure we put in a good performance and finished on a high. And I thought we did that, it was a tough game and they put us under a lot of pressure but we came out with a win."
