The New York Red Bulls became the third Major League Soccer side to win their first four away matches after defeating Orlando City 3-0 on Sunday at Exploria Stadium.

The Red Bulls are the first to reach this benchmark since LA Galaxy completed the feat in 1998.

“We were so clear. We were sharp like a knife in so many moments,” said manager Gerhard Struber post match.

“We dominated and had control over the whole game. This was a very interesting matchup as far as pressing against possession and all the cards went our direction. Orlando was not able to find a plan against our style of play. We created our own game and in the end we beat a top, top team in this league.”

Luquinhas kicked off the scoring, recording his first Major League Soccer goal in the 26th minute. Cristian Casseres followed up shortly after before Lewis Morgan sealed the victory with an 88th minute penalty.

“I think that we’re always up for these challenges, we’re up for the fight, and when we are, we’re at our best. So I know no one on this team is going to back down in those moments. And when we don’t, we’re really tough to beat,” said defender Aaron Long.

But despite recent success, the Red Bulls have yet to win a game at home. The team has hosted the Columbus Crew, Montreal, Minnesota and Dallas, and could not get a win. The team concluded the home stretch with two draws and two defeats.

“Maybe it’s a little bit of the other team, when they come into our building, they sit back and they kind of try to slow the game down and look for a tie. And maybe it’s a little bit tougher for us to break them down. Instead of when we’re on the road, these teams are pushing for wins at home and we kind of catch them in transition,” Long explained.

Now, the team has one last away match before returning home to Red Bull Arena in desperate search for the win.
