AS Monaco finished the 2024-2025 season in a very solid third place in Ligue 1. Here are the fourteen key stats to remember from this exercise, with our partner Opta.

At the price of a successful season during which they rubbed shoulders with the top of the French league, the AS Monaco players ended this campaign with a new place on the Ligue 1 podium, which meant  direct qualification for the Champions League. As the 2024-2025 season comes to a close, here are fourteen key figures to remember, thanks to our partner Opta.

Top of the Rock ⛰️

AS Monaco finished on the podium for the 31st time in its history in Ligue 1, more than any other team in the competition. Since returning to the top flight in 2013-2014, the Rouge et Blanc have finished in the top 3 nine times in 12 seasons, only Paris Saint-Germain (12) has a higher total over the period.

Collective DNA 🧬

The Principality club is the team with the most goalscorers of different nationalities in Ligue 1 this season (14). In addition, four players have been involved in at least 10 goals in Ligue 1 this season. (15 for Maghnes Akliouche and Mika Biereth, 10 for Breel Embolo and Denis Zakaria), only Paris Saint-Germain (7) had more in total.

Chasing records 🏹

Against OGC Nice on March 29, Mika Biereth became the first player to score 12 goals in his first 10 Ligue 1 matches. The Danish striker has scored at least three goals in three matches this season. In the 21st century, only Kylian Mbappé (3 in 2018-2019) and Moussa Sow (3 in 2010-2011) did equally well in the same exercise.

The Côte d’Azur is Rouge et Blanc 🔴⚪

Moreover, this latest success in the Derby marked the 58th victory, in all competitions, against Les Aiglons, who are now one of the three teams that the club from the Rock has beaten the most in its history (58 also against Rennes and Lyon).

An offensive display 💥

Against Nantes on February 15 (7-1), the Monégasques have achieved the biggest success in Ligue 1 since a victory by the same score against Ajaccio on Janaury 15, 2023. This was the third time the Rouge et Blanc have scored seven goals in a league match in the 21st century (after a 7-0 victory against Metz in October 2016). Only PSG have scored more of this type over the same period (5).

Don’t talk to me about age 👶

Against Barcelona on September 19, George Ilenikhena became, at 18 years and 34 days old, he became Monaco’s youngest goalscorer in the Champions League, beating Kylian Mbappé’s record of 2017 (18 years and 63 days old).

Maestro 🪄

The players of Adi Hütter have taken 17 points after being behind during the 2024-2025 season, joint-highest total tied with Marseille and Paris. The Austrian coach also has a 55.9% win rate since his arrival in the Principality, the third highest ratio in the top flight in the history of the Club behind Claudio Ranieri (61%) and Niko Kovac (56.1%).

Good feelings at home 🏡

With a record of 12 wins out of the 17 matches played at the Stade Louis-II this season, the Principality club has won 71% of of their home matches, with a record of 12 wins out of the 17 matches played at the Stade Louis-II this season, only the capital club (44) has taken more points (39) on its home turf in Ligue 1 this season.

A powerful strike🦿

Teammates of Denis Zakaria, named in the Team of the Season, have attempted 500 shots in the league, the second highest total behind PSG (635). Monaco also have the second highest total of Expected Goals (74.2) behind the French champions (89.8). Finally, only Paris (1299) and Lyon (1061) have touched the ball more times in the opposition’s box (1000 for Monaco).

Getting a “head” 🪖

Against Bologna on November 5, 2024, Monaco fielded a starting XI with an average age of 23 years and 245 days, the youngest in its history in a Champions League match. The only goalscorer in this big win, Thilo Kehrer, also named in the Team of the Round, scored four goals in L1, only Jubal (6) had a higher total among central defenders.

A master on the pitch ♟️

Maghnes Akliouche is the fifth Monegasque to reach the 10 assist mark in a single season since Opta began collecting this data (2006-2007), after Nenê (11 in 2007-2008), James Rodríguez (12 in 2013-2014), Yannick Carrasco in 2014-2015 (10) and Thomas Lemar (10 in 2016-2017).

Poison for opposing defences ⚡

The Academy-trained player touched the ball 172 times in the opposition’s box, the second-highest total behind Bradley Barcola (228) in the top flight. No player also made more recoveries in the final third than our number 11 (35, like Himad Abdelli).

It's something I've worked on a lot in training this year. And I'm happy that we scored from a set piece, because it's been a while since that happened. So I hope it continues like this!

Lamine CamaraOn his assist for Zakaria against Lyon

Golden feet 🎯

Lamine Camara provided five assists from a set piece in the league, only Gaëtan Perrin (6) has more this season. Against St Etienne on May 3, Caio Henrique provided his 32nd assist in Ligue 1, overtaking Christophe Jallet to become the second-best provider of assists among defenders/wingbacks since 2006-2007 (38 for Jonathan Clauss).

Between the lines ❌

Finally, the club from the Principality scored seven goals following at least one pass between the lineß from Denis Zakaria in the 10 seconds preceding the goal, only Pierre-Emile Højbjerg (8) did better.
