Nasser Al-Khelaifi on La Liga: “It’s not what it used to be.”

Speaking alongside Kylian Mbappé at a PSG press conference on Monday, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi discussed La Liga and La Liga president Javier Tebas.

“Javier Tebas is afraid that Ligue 1 will overtake La Liga. La Liga is not what it used to be,” he said.

Tebas took to Twitter on Saturday to criticise the Ligue 1 side after it was revealed earlier in the day that Mbappé had turned down Real Madrid to stay in Paris.

“What PSG are going to do by renewing [Kylian] Mbappé with huge amounts of money after making losses of €700m over the last few seasons and having more than €600m of a wage bill is an INSULT to football. [Nasser] Al-Khelaifi is as dangerous as the Super League,” Tebas wrote.
