With Ciro Immobile heavily linked with a transfer to Besiktas, Lazio are now exploring their options on the market, and they could reportedly rekindle their interest in Giovanni Simeone and Boulaye Dia.
The Biancocelesti captain has already agreed terms with the Turkish giants, but he’s hoping that Lazio President Claudio Lotito grants him his release, as Besiktas don’t intend to pay a transfer fee.
Whether the deal will go through or not remains to be seen, but in the meantime, the Italian capital side is already being linked with potential replacements.
According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Lazio could once again return to Simeone who has been starving for playing time at Napoli. The Argentine joined the Partenopei in 2022 on the back of a successful spell at Hellas Verona, but he has since been reduced to a backup role. As a result, the 29-year-old could thus relish a move to Lazio, especially given that his father Diego Simeone had donned the club’s jersey during his playing days. The striker’s contract with Napoli is valid until 2026.
On the other hand, Il Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) claims that Lazio Sporting Director Angelo Fabiani has already identified his old Salernitana pupil Dia as a replacement for Immobile. The Aquile will try to secure an initial loan move with an obligation to buy set at €16 million. The two clubs have already done business this summer, with Loum Tchaouna moving to Lazio.
