Napoli are set to send their players to retreat ahead of their return to training.

According to a report by Sky Italia via TMW, the Napoli management was distraught after the team’s 1-0 defeat to Empoli. Club CEO Aurelio De Laurentiis is now thinking of sending the squad to a retreat in the training facilities on Monday before the start of physical training for the high-profile match against Roma.

Alberto Cerri gave Empoli the lead in the 4th minute and since conceding, the Partenopei failed to be productive in the final thirds and came away without scoring a single goal, leading to their 10th loss of the season. The defeat ended Napoli’s dreams of qualifying for the Champions League next season.

The retreat last happened in January when Walter Mazzarri was in charge as the head coach.

Napoli did not even enjoy a chance to defend their Scudetto this season as Inter and the other teams were in top form while they lost important matches.
