As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Napoli have opened discussions with Borussia Dortmund for Karim Adeyemi ahead of a possible January transfer.
The Serie A side have formally opened discussions with BVB, as the Bundesliga side is now willing to let the German international leave this winter rather than in the summer.
As previously reported by GGFN, Napoli had already made a verbal offer for the winger worth around €40m.
Adeyemi has missed a large portion of games this season, playing just nine of Borussia Dortmund’s 18 Bundesliga games, scoring two and creating three.
Adeyemi had previously ruled out a winter move with his focus fully on BVB and attempting to improve their current league position of 10th.
However, following the recent sacking of Nuri Şahin and Dortmund supposedly open to letting the 23-year-old leave, Adeyemi may feel that his time in Yellow and Black has come to a natural end.
Or at least the club isn’t too bothered if he stays now or goes in the summer.
