Napoli are in a deep search for a high-quality central defender in order fill the void within the back-line following the departure of Kim Min Jae.
After joining from Turkish outfits Fenerbahce and playing a prominent role within Spalletti’s title winning campaign last season, the South-Korean international has decided to depart the Serie A giants for Bayern Munich on a €50m transfer move, agreeing on a five-year deal with the Bundesliga reigning champions.
With very little time remaining until the Serie A season resumes, the Partenopei are exploring various options in order to sign a defensive profile that suits as the successor of the 26 year-old as quickly as possible.
TMW reports that Wolverhampton’s Max Kilman is considered the primary candidate for Napoli, whom is valued at a hefty €40m. Three other defenders who are deemed as alternatives for the Englishman are Lens’ Kevin Danso, Dinamo Zagreb’s Josip Sutalo, whom is being heavily monitored by Fiorentina, and Wolfsburg’s Maxence Lacroix.
