FC Nantes have taken the decision to suspend right-back Fabien Centonze (27) for a week, according to a report this Thursday from Ouest-France.

The outlet understands that the 27-year-old defender displayed a “disrespectful attitude” towards members of the coaching staff, including Nantes manager Pierre Aristouy, on Tuesday. The club’s general manager Franck Kita – son of Nantes owner and president Waldemar Kita – consequently suspended Centonze for a week.

The former FC Metz right-back made no mystery of his intentions to leave Les Canaris during last summer’s transfer window. Nantes’ bitter Brittany rivals Stade Rennais reportedly sounded out Centonze, without submitting a formal bid to their counterparts. Speaking to Ouest-France, Centonze’s lawyer slams FC Nantes. “It’s a grotesque, irrational situation. The club management gives him uninteresting offers and make him pay for refusing them. It’s a form of harassment.”

Due to a hamstring injury, Centonze has not featured yet for Nantes this season. Given the circumstances of his suspension, he may have played his final game already with Les Canaris.
