FC Nantes will bolster their options by completing the signings of two players in the coming days, according to reports this Monday from L’Équipe.
Boavista defender Chidozie Awaziem (26) will return to the Cité des Ducs after spending the 2017-18 season on loan at Claudio Ranieri’s FC Nantes from FC Porto. The Nigerian had already agreed personal terms with Les Canaris over a four-year deal. Boavista and Nantes have reportedly shook hands over a €1.5m transfer fee. Awaziem was tied to Boavista with his contract set to expire in 2025. However, he spent last season on loan at Hajduk Split. The Nigerian international will compensate for the departure of Andrei Girotto, who joined Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Tawoon.
The Pierre Aristouy-led side are also set to welcome PAOK FC midfielder Douglas Augusto (26) into their ranks. The French publication understands that the Greek side and Nantes have an agreement in principle over the signing of Augusto in exchange for a €5m fee. The Brazilian midfielder has already agreed to join the Ligue 1 side for the next four years. Les Canaris have only signed two players since the start of the transfer window: defensive midfielder Lamine Diack and right-back Ronaël Pierre-Gabriel. Nantes will kick off their Ligue 1 season at home against Toulouse this Sunday.
