FC Nantes have rejected a €30m bid from Wolverhampton Wanderers for Matthis Abline (22), according to a report from L’Équipe.
Nantes have been determined to hold onto Abline this summer. The club are under no obligation to sell, having already made a string of sales, including the sale of Nathan Zézé to Neom SC, as well as Moses Simon to Paris FC. It means that, despite the TV rights crisis, Nantes’ financial situation is stable.
It has so far allowed the club to fend off advances for their most valuable player, Abline. A €40m price-tag has been set for the centre-forward, and Nantes are not budging from that valuation. The centre-forward was the subject of a €30m bid from Wolves on Thursday, however, that has been rejected by the Ligue 1 club.
The player himself, not exactly sold on a move to Molineux earlier in the window, is, nonetheless, keen to leave Les Canaris before the closure of the transfer window. However, it all depends on that €40m price tag being met.
