NAC Breda have announced the signing of Terence Kongolo on a free transfer. The defender, who spent time out on loan at Rapid Wien in Austria last season, joins from Premier League side Fulham. 30-year-old Kongolo has signed a two year deal with the newly promoted Eredivisie side.
Kongolo, once of Feyenoord and Monaco, cost Huddersfield Town a reported €20m back in January 2018, making him the clubs record signing. The defender spent time on loan at Fulham during the second half of the 2019/2020 season before moving to west London permanently in the summer for around €4m. Kongolo only made four appearances for Fulham, spending time on loan at Le Havre and Rapid Wien. Last season he played 15 games for the Austrian’s grabbing one assist.
Prior to leaving the Netherlands to join Monaco, the then young Kongolo made 138 appearances for Feyenoord, scoring three goals and grabbing nine assists. He only ever played six games for Monaco before his big move to Huddersfield.
