As reported earlier by Foot Mercato, Olympique Lyonnais are in talks with Nottingham Forest regarding the transfer of Moussa Niakhaté (28). The publication has now revealed that the Senegal international has rejected two clubs in favour of joining Les Gones.
OL and Nottingham Forest have been advancing in talks in recent days and the deal is on a positive path, to the extent that it is thought that Niakhaté could undergo a medical as early as Friday. Whilst the clubs attempt to strike a deal, the player himself has already approved the move to Lyon, Foot Mercato now adds. The centre-back has already given his agreement for a contract that will run for either four or five years.
In choosing OL, Niakhaté rejected two other offers, from Premier League rivals Crystal Palace and Lille OSC. Once an agreement is reached with Nottingham Forest – and an agreement on a fee of around €15m is growing closer – he will travel to Lyon and undergo his medical before signing his contract.
