Manchester United have confirmed their travelling squad for Thursday’s Europa League clash against FC Porto at Estadio do Dragao.

Mason Mount is missing from the 23-man squad after he suffered a head injury in the 3-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

The £55 million United signing came on as a substitute but was replaced late in the game due to an injury. The good news is that he did not suffer a concussion.

Another positive update is Kobbie Mainoo’s inclusion. The starlet was substituted with an apparent hamstring injury against Spurs.

He trained with the squad and could start against Porto.

Mount’s absence has allowed manager Erik ten Hag to add Dan Gore to the travelling squad.

He suffered a shoulder injury just one appearance into his loan spell with Port Vale last season.

The 20-year-old captained the Under-21s against Hertha Berlin on Tuesday night. The trip to Porto will boost his confidence after spending a lengthy time on the sidelines.

Gore is unlikely to be involved against Porto as Mainoo, Manuel Ugarte, Casemiro, Christian Eriksen and Toby Collyer are ahead of him.

Mount’s absence is a setback as he recently returned from his hamstring injury. He will hopefully be fit to face Aston Villa on Sunday.

Bruno Fernandes is expected to continue in the number 10 spot. The United captain received a red card against Spurs.

However, he won’t miss any games as United successfully appealed to overturn his ban.

Ten Hag is under tremendous pressure after poor results. Another lacklustre performance could result in him being sacked.
