Mostafa Mohamed’s Transfer to Saudi Side Neom Collapses
The highly anticipated move of Egyptian striker Mostafa Mohamed to Saudi Pro League newcomers Neom FC's officially fallen through according to reports from Africafoot.
Although both sides had reached advanced stage in talks, negotiations between FC Nantes & Neom were derailed due to disagreements over the transfer fee.
The French club demanded 10 million dollar and sell on clause while Neom offered 5 million euro, an amount that had already gained the green light from the 27 year old player.
Despite Mohamed’s willingness to join Neom, Nantes refused to compromise on their asking price leading to suspension of negotiations. The club views the striker as a key asset especially with his contract running until summer 2027.
Nicknamed "The Anaconda" Mostafa Mohamed has been mainstay in Egypt’s national team since 2019 earning 47 caps & scoring 13 goals. He previously played for Galatasaray in Turkey and remains transfer target for clubs like Basaksehir, Al Ahly, Zamalek and Pyramids FC.
