Having joined on loan from Galatasaray last summer, Egyptian striker Mostafa Mohamed is now likely to remain with in Ligue 1 this summer, as Les Canaris look set to trigger the permanent clause in his contract, according to L’Équipe.

The club reportedly had until this Thursday to give their definite decision, which had previously been up in the air considering Ligue 1 safety was only secured on the final day of the campaign, with a 1-0 win over Angers.

Nevertheless, Nantes have now decided to make Mohamed’s move permament, with the forward now expected to sign a three-year deal. The former Zamalek forward leaves Galatasaray after two seasons in Turkey, which saw him score 17 goals in across all competitions.

His first season in France will have seen the 25-year-old score 11 goals in all competitions, although he was also embroiled in controversy over his refusal to wear a shirt with a rainbow flag on the back, which saw him skip a crucial match in the team’s relegation battle.
