Is there anything that Bruno Fernandes can not do?

The Portuguese superstar – a country that seems to produce superstars coincidently – has been nothing but phenomenal for a number of years and has continued to display some of his impressive performances for Manchester United.

Of course, there would have been plenty of expectation on his shoulders following his £47 million move from Sporting Lisbon around this time last year, however he has paid that transfer fee back as the Red Devils would be lost without him in their squad.

Fernandes had managed to score a highly impressive eight goals last season, whilst also providing a further eight assists to his team-mates in the second half of last season and he has continued that top form this season.

In the 17 Premier League appearances he made prior to their top-of-the-table clash with Liverpool on Sunday, the midfielder has managed to hit 11 goals and provide eight assists once again – further highlighting just how important he has been for the club and how important he is to bettors using apuestas 24.

Recently, he set a new Premier League record when he became the first player in history to win the Player of the Month award four times in one calendar year.

Having won his first in his first month of Premier League football (February 2020), he managed to lift his second shortly after the 2019/20 season restarted.

November and December saw the Portugal international in top form and meant he would win the Player of the Month award on both occasions, therefore providing him with his third and fourth awards.

When taking a look at the history books, Bruno Fernandes is already level with some of the best players the Premier League has ever seen, with the likes of Dennis Bergkamp, Thierry Henry, Frank Lampard, Cristiano Ronaldo, Paul Scholes, Alan Shearer and Jamie Vardy each having won the award four times.

Furthermore, he has surpassed the likes of Gareth Bale, Sadio Mane, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Mohamed Salah, Robbie Keane and Dwight Yorke who all managed to achieve three accolades.

However, there are five players who have won it more than Fernandes so far, although it would not be a surprise if he were to catch or even surpass them in the near future.

Manchester United’s own Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie both managed five, whilst Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane and Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard obtained six in their careers.

Sergio Aguero, stands clear with seven Player of the Month Awards, but with the Manchester City forward looking far from likely to add to his tally, perhaps Bruno Fernandes will catch him?
