Sunday provided us with five exciting fixtures in the FA Women’s Super League.
Here’s what went down …
Chelsea took an early lead at Kingsmeadow courtesy of Sam Kerr’s fourth goal of the season.
The Hammers equalised two minutes into the second half when Rachel Daly tapped in at the back post.
But the dominant Blues were soon back in front as Kerr doubled her tally for the afternoon.
The Australian then completed her hat-trick with another excellent poacher’s finish.
West Ham then pulled a goal back late on when Magdalena Eriksson headed into her own net, but 3-2 was how it finished.
The win moves Chelsea up to 3rd in the table.
Arsenal had a great chance to take an early lead from the penalty spot, but Blues goalkeeper Hannah Hampton made a great save to deny Kim Little from the spot.
The Gunners did go in front in the 57th minute though, with Caitlin Foord heading in off the post.
Five minutes later it was 2-0, this time as Jill Roord found the top corner following a brilliant passing move.
And Little finally did get her goal from the spot to make it 3-0 in the dying minutes.
Arsenal remain one point behind Manchester United in second.
The visitors took the lead just before half-time when Emma Bissell netted at the end of a lightning fast counter-attack.
Fara Williams equalised for Reading earlier in the second half when she smashed home a half volley after a goalkeeping fumble.
Reading move up to 6th in the table, while Bristol City stay bottom.
Kerys Harrop gave Spurs the lead after 11 minutes with a free-kick that goalkeeper Megan Walsh could only get a hand to.
Brighton soon levelled when Inessa Kaagman coolly dispatched from the penalty spot.
But Angela Addison put Spurs 2-1 up in the second half when she rounded the goalkeeper before slotting home.
And Alex Morgan opened her WSL account with a goal from the penalty spot late on.
Spurs are up to 9th in the table, two points behind Brighton.
City took the lead after 25 minutes at Walton Hall Park when Ellen White’s super header looped over Sandy MacIver.
A minute later it was 2-0, this time Gemma Bonner heading in from a corner.
Janine Beckie then made it 3-0 in first half stoppage time when she headed in at the back post after Caroline Weir’s deep cross.
City have now leapfrogged Everton into 4th place.
