The problems behind the scenes at La Liga giants Barcelona, it would appear, are beginning to mount.

This comes amid claims that, already the subject of frustration on the part of the club’s board, Xavi is now drawing the ire of a key member of his squad, too.

The player in question? Robert Lewandowski.

Frontman Lewandowski, for his part, was afforded a starting berth on Thursday night, as Barcelona made the trip to the already-relegated Almería, for a La Liga clash.

Midway through the 2nd-half, with the Blaugrana leading by two goals to nil, however, the Pole was hooked from proceedings.

Lewandowski, for his part, greeted Xavi cordially on the touchline, on his way back to the visiting bench at the Power Horse Stadium.

But, according to Marca, the former Bayern Munich man was in fact ‘really angry’ with his head coach.

Lewandowski is desperate for a late-season push in his efforts to retain the Pichichi crown – awarded to the top scorer in La Liga come the season’s close.

In four of his last five appearances, however, the 35-year-old has been hauled off prematurely.

With ‘Lewa’ having managed a hat-trick in the one outing across this stretch in which he saw out the full 90 minutes, the hitman is in turn becoming increasingly frustrated with what he deems a lack of support in his Pichichi endeavours by way of his manager.
