Montpellier are targeting Moldavian international Olympiacos left-back Oleg Reabciuk (25), according to a report from Foot Mercato. The struggling Ligue 1 fifteenth-placed team are in need of a left-back following the departure of French defender Nicolas Cozza (24) to Bundesliga side Wolfsburg on a four-and-a-half year deal. The Hérault outfit reportedly tried to lure Moroccan international left-back Yahya Attiatallah but they failed to meet Wydad Casablanca’s asking price and have moved on to a different target as a result.
Now, the Romain Pitau-led outfit are trying to strike a deal with Greek side Olympiacos over the signing of Reabciuk. The FC Porto youth product joined the Piraeus-based club two years ago from Paços de Ferreira in a €2m deal. According to Foot Mercato, Olympiacos have rejected a first €3m offer from Montpellier and are expecting a €5m fee. Reabciuk may favour a new challenge abroad as the Erythrolefki (red-whites) have recruited young Brazilian left-back Ramon from Flamengo. Foot Mercato adds that Serie A side Bologna is also keeping tabs on the Moldavian international.
