Montpellier consider move for former Monaco winger Keita Baldé | OneFootball

Montpellier HSC currently sit rock-bottom of Ligue 1 and they may need to spend their way out of trouble, as difficult as that may be for a club with extremely limited financial means, in order to stave off relegation to Ligue 2.

La Paillade’s ongoing financial difficulties meant that they didn’t spend a penny during the summer transfer window, however, according to Mohamed Toubache-Ter, the club are considering a move for journeyman forward Keita Baldé (29). Having come through the ranks at Barcelona, the Senegal international has gone on to play for a range of clubs across Europe.

He has played for Lazio, AS Monaco, Inter Milan, Sampdoria, Cagliari, Spartak Moscow, Espanyol and Sivasspor. He joined the latter on a free transfer in the summer. Since making the move to Turkey, Baldé has made 11 appearances, scoring one goal. Montpellier are now targeting a move for the winger, however, Toubache-Ter understands that any deal may prove difficult.
