The Monterrey vs Celaya Copa MX round of 16 match will be broadcast live online and on TV as Los Rayados host Los Toros at the Estadio BBVA this Wednesday, January 29, at 7:10 PM Pacific.
Monterrey defeated Celaya 4-3 away from home in the first-leg of this series, which turned out to be a very entertaining match. Monterrey manager Antonio Mohamed used a very strong lineup for the clash that included players like Rogelio Funes Mori, Stefan Medina and Maxi Meza.
Meza spearheaded the attack with two goals scored as Miguel Layun and Rogelio Funes Mori also scored. New signing Ake Loba started the match and some youngsters like Axel Grijalva and Daniel Parra also played in the match.
Celaya held its own in that first match as Carlos Camacho, Edgar Reyes and Leobardo Lopez scored for the Bulls. The team from Guanajuato is led by manager Hector Altamirano, who had an extensive playing career in the Liga MX.
Some of the notable former Liga MX players that played for the Ascenso MX team in the first-leg include goalkeeper Cristian Campestrini and defender Leobardo Lopez. Celaya has its back against the wall now with the second-leg being at the BBVA, but still has hope.
FutnSoccer predicts a 3-1 win for Monterrey as Rayados have a much better team than Celaya and the home-field advantage.
