Monaco looking to replace Jean Lucas with Palmeiras’ Danilo

RMC Sport report this afternoon that Monaco are looking to move midfielder Jean Lucas on, with the Brazilian having fallen down the pecking order and no longer being in manager Philippe Clement’s plans.

The former Lyon man, who arrived in 2021, is now behind the likes of Youssouf Fofana, Mohamed Camara and Eliot Matazo. The Monégasques are looking to free up a non-EU spot in the squad, which would allow them to pursue Palmeiras man Danilo.

The 21-year-old, who has been widely linked to Arsenal, is one of the club’s transfer priorities this winter. He can only join if one of the four non-EU players leave first – the other three as Takumi Minamino, Vanderson and Guillermo Maripán.

Monaco currently sit in 6th place in Ligue 1 after a middling start to the campaign, and return to action after the international break with a trip to Auxerre on December 28.
