Mohamed Salah came off the bench for Liverpool against Rangers to score the fastest hat-trick the Champions League has ever seen.
Having only just been introduced into the fray, the Egyptian international plucked the ball out of the sky in the penalty area with the most delicate of touches and then lashed home Liverpool’s fourth goal from a tight angle.
Not five minutes later and he was at it again, this time dancing with the defenders at the top of the box before cooly beating Allan McGregor at his near post.
The 30-year-old completed his hat trick almost straight from kick-off, cutting inside to find the far post with a delicious curling effort.
A new Champions League record, as being benched has seemingly lit a fire under Salah.
Could this be where he kickstarts his season? Liverpool fans and Jürgen Klopp will surely hope so.
