Lorient's Terem Moffi could be in ine for his Nigeria debut after being named in a 31-man squad for a friendly against Cameroon on June 4.

The match will take place in Austria and Moffi is joined in the squad by Nantes' Moses Simon. Moffi, 21, has impressed in his debut Ligue 1 Uber Eats season, scoring 14 goals in 30 league appearances, seeing him catch the eye of Nigeria boss Gernot Rohr.

Moffi's haul of league goals is the best for a Lorient player since Cameroonian Vincent Aboubakar netted 16 times in 2013-14. Les Merlus are 17th in the table with two matches to go, hovering just above the bottom three, and Moffi is crucial to Christophe Pelisssier's side's bid to retain their top division status, having been promoted in 2019-20.

Ahead of the Round 37 home match with Metz, Pelissier said he'd avoid the temptation to keep an eye on the scores elsewhere as all the matches kick off simultaneously: "I'm going to stay focused on my match. Maybe one of the coaching staff will have an eye on the other scores. We know what we have to do. We'll analyse the other results come full-time but our objective above all is to take the three points."
