A group of FC Nantes supporters could be facing some serious consequences for their actions on Sunday.

The Brigade Loire (BL) are facing dissolution following several violent scenes at Stade de la Beaujoire in a 2-0 defeat during Nantes’ defeat to Le Havre AC.

During the encounter, supporters caused numerous interruptions throughout the 90 minutes, including throwing tennis balls and toilet paper in protest of the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) policy.

Things escalated as the match wore on, with approximately 70 people attempting to invade the pitch at the end of the game. Bruno Retailleau, the minister of the interior, is exploring potential disciplinary action as a result of those scenes.

“Beyond this long and legally secured procedure, firm, individual sanctions rather than collective sanctions are to be given priority,” he said.

What the actual consequences will be remains a mystery, in addition to whether the ministry can actually dissolve Brigade Loire for good.

Article L332-18 of the Sports Code allows the dissolution or suspension of a group for 12 months of “any association or de facto grouping.”

Next weekend, Nantes head to the French capital to face Paris Saint-Germain, and there will be questions on whether away fans will be permitted to make the trip.

Nantes released a stating that they believed a travel ban would be imposed, and that has now come to pass. As a result, no Canaris fans will be present inside the Parc des Princes this weekend.
