Mo Salah held back on giving his side of the story following his touchline row with Jurgen Klopp, but did suggest there could be genuine discord between the two.

The Egyptian winger was dropped for Saturday’s trip to the London Stadium, where they drew 2-2 with West Ham United.

The result effectively ends any lingering hopes the Reds had of winning the Premier League title this season.

But all of the focus is on the heated exchange between Salah and Klopp when the player was due to come off the bench with just over ten minutes of normal time remaining.

Asked to speak about the incident in the mixed zone, Salah told reporters: “There’s going to be fire today if I speak.”

Klopp refused to divulge what was said between the pair on the sideline and considers the matter closed after the two men spoke in the dressing room after the game.

“No, but we spoke about it already in the dressing room. That’s done,” he told TNT Sports.

Jarrod Bowen opened the scoring for West Ham just before the interval, continuing Liverpool’s trend of conceding the first goal in matches this season.

Andy Robertson hit back shortly after halftime with an equaliser, before Alphonse Areola diverted the ball into his own to put the visitors ahead. However, Michail Antonio levelled matters in the 77th minute.

Liverpool remain third in the table and two points off leaders Arsenal, who have a game in hand. Man City sit second in the standings, one point better off with two fewer games played.

Klopp’s men are back in Premier League action against next Sunday when they face Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield for a 2pm kickoff. They play Aston Villa away and Wolves at home in their final two games of the season.
