The AC Milan squad resumed training today and some news has arrived regarding the condition of midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

There are over a dozen players missing over the international break given the various call-ups to national teams around Europe and further afield, but Paulo Fonseca was able to work with those players not summoned at the training ground today.

As MilanNews report, there has been an update regarding Loftus-Cheek, who was not called up for the last match against Fiorentina – a 2-1 defeat at the Stadio Artemio Franchi – due to a strain in his right flexor.

The English midfielder today did individual work at Milanello but the good news is that there seems to be no lingering injury and the recovery process will be evaluated day by day, in view of the return to action against Udinese after the international break.

For Loftus-Cheek, it will be an important period from when he returns to full training with the squad because he has a mission to convince Fonseca that he should return to the XI.

He has started both in the double pivot and as an attacking midfielder in the 4-2-3-1 system but has now lost his spot to Alvaro Morata, having not been in the best form since the end of last season.
