Milan have failed in a move for Atletico Madrid defender Çağlar Söyüncü, who has also been linked with a move to Roma.

Roma wanted to sign the Turkish defender on loan from Atleti but Fulham were looking to land him permanently and were willing to offer a fee to the Spanish side.

Gianluca di Marzio has reported about Milan’s interest in the former Leicester City defender, who is on the move this month. Milan had tried to sign the defender, but Fenerbahce seem set to land the 27-year-old on an initial six-month loan deal, despite the Rossoneri’s best attempts.

Milan’s leading target is still Clement Lenglet, who is on loan at Aston Villa from Barcelona. The move isn’t simple and that is why Trevoh Chalobah and Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior are also options. When it comes to the Chelsea defender, Milan do have concerns about his physical state but their hunt for a new defender drags on.
