Milan are facing two key obstacles in their chase of Aston Villa’s Clement Lenglet but have started thinking about Jakub Kiwior again after Arsenal changed their position.

The Rossoneri have been forced to use full back Theo Hernandez in the centre of defence in recent weeks due to an injury crisis at the back, something Stefano Pioli is hoping will be resolved in the winter transfer window.

Milan’s top target to bolster their backline this month was Alessandro Buongiorno, but Torino made it clear that he wasn’t for sale, pushing the club’s transfer head Geoffrey Moncada to start sounding out alternatives.

As reported by Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, Milan recently held a new round of talks with Lenglet and his entourage to try and find a deal for the French defender, but two key issues emerged.

The first is the 28-year-old’s high salary and the second is that Aston Villa coach Unai Emery doesn’t want to lose the Barcelona loanee, all but ruling out a move this month.

It comes as good news then that Arsenal have started to change their tune about Kiwior, opening up to the possibility of a six-month loan. They’ve previously resisted interest from a handful of Italian clubs for the Polish defender, who shined at Spezia before making the jump to North London.
