Italian media claim Milan directors are unhappy with the players’ attitude, so Paulo Fonseca’s job is not at risk for now.

Milan suffered a 2-1 loss against Fiorentina on Sunday, missing two penalties at the Stadio Franchi.

It irritated Fonseca because Christian Pulisic, the designated penalty kick taker, didn’t take any of the two spot kicks, seeing David De Gea frustrate Theo Hernandez and Tammy Abraham.

Milan have lost four games from the opening nine across all competitions, but according to reports in Italy, Fonseca’s job is not at risk.

Gazzetta and Corriere dello Sport claim that Milan directors are irritated by the players’ attitude and that they are backing the Portuguese coach.

Fonseca, however, is aware that more negative results after the break would put his position under scrutiny.

The coach openly blamed the players in front of the media after the defeat in Florence, a change of strategy compared to August when he and the club played down controversy after Theo and Rafael Leao snubbed a cooling break in an away game at Lazio.
