Emerson Royal is on the verge of returning from a serious thigh injury that cost him the past two months and will have to fight for minutes since Milan signed Kyle Walker in January. The fullback was rumored to be on his way out, but his father Emerzon Zulu liquidated the chatter to Tuttomercatoweb.
“He’s fine. He’s sorry for the injury, but he’s enthusiastic because he is close to being cleared. It didn’t happen in an ideal moment, but it’s part of the game. The goal is to come back stronger.” “As for Galatasaray, there was never a concrete negotiation for us. We didn’t think it would happen and knew little about it. It was just a whisper that came and went quickly.”
Emerson has seen consistent minutes in the first half of the season but had some difficulties, like most of the Milan squad.
“Every transition has challenges: a new country, new people, and different culture. Despite the similarities between Brazil and Italy, the adaptation takes time. The pressure is always there, from the fans, media, and agents. But he can handle it very. He has a solid emotional control.”
Emerson will tussle with Walker once healthy, as the former Manchester City stalwart has shown well in his first few Milan fixtures.
“We think it was a positive acquisition. It’s essential to have more than one player in that role. Moreover, he’s not just a fullback. He’s versatile, a real tactical chameleon who can handle different positions. The objective will be to show what he’s capable of, give his best, and help the side win titles. Wearing these colors means commitment and passion for him.”
