Mikel Arteta gave a brilliant response to his yellow card during Arsenal vs Manchester United.

The Spanish manager has come under criticism – mainly from Richard Keys – this season for his touchline antics.

And when Luke Shaw fouled Bukayo Saka in the 34th minute, it provoked a strong reaction from Arteta as he ran to the fourth official pleading for the United defender to be booked.

However, there was one person Anthony Taylor was getting the yellow card out for and that was the Arsenal manager.

After watching his side go five points clear with an enthralling 3-2 victory over Man Utd, Arteta was asked about his touchline antics by Sky Sports Geoff Shreeves.

“Can you complain about the yellow card you received,” Shreeves asked.

“I don’t think so,” Arteta replied honestly.

“Do you need to learn a little bit from that,” Shreeves asked again.

He probably wasn’t expecting the following reply from Arteta…

“You can always get better in life innit,” Arteta said.

Innit.

Brilliant from Arteta and it was a response Arsenal fans were absolutely loving it.

Arteta: Arsenal’s season has been ‘extraordinary’

Arsenal have now hit 50 points at the halfway stage of the Premier League season and the manager believes it’s been an ‘extraordinary’ half of the campaign.

“Extraordinary, I would say!” Arteta said.

“It doesn’t get much better than that, that’s the reality. I think we deserve the points that we have, I think we have played well enough to win most of the matches, but the reality as well is that we still have a lot of things that we can get much better at, attacking and defending in transitions, in set-pieces and that’s the aim.”

And when asked how big the victory could be for their title ambitions, Arteta replied: “Well, especially after coming back, winning the London derby away from home, the way we played, today we played a completely different team that has very different demands and a way of playing, going down against this team straight away is extremely dangerous because you can start to try to attack in ways that they are going to punish you.

“We came back in the game at 2-1 and then exactly what happened at Old Trafford happened again, at 2-1 we were in total control of the game, they scored, and then it’s the moment that, if you are not emotionally sound, if you are not intelligent enough to know what the game requires, you are going to lose it. We did the opposite, we got better, and better and better and we fully deserved to win the game.”

Innit.
