Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is set to give Nicolas Pépé a swift shot at redemption.
The Ivorian was sent off for a headbutt as the Gunners drew 0-0 with Leeds on Sunday evening.
Arteta didn’t hide his frustration after the game, branding Pépé’s actions “unacceptable” before the winger apologised to his team-mates and the fans on Monday.
However, Pépé is set to earn an immediate shot at regaining his manager’s faith.
With Bukayo Saka and Willian injury doubts, the Times and the Mirror say Pépé is set to start as Arsenal face Molde in the Europa League on Thursday evening.
The reports claim Arteta and Pépé had a conversation about the weekend on Tuesday and the 25-year-old now has a surprise chance to prove his worth.
Arsenal will be looking to rotate for Thursday’s game, having won all three of their Europa League games so far, while Pépé will miss league outings against Wolves, Tottenham and Burnley.
