Chivas defender Miguel Ángel Ponce acknowledged this Friday that he does not fear the possibility of leaving in the upcoming transfer market.

With new sporting director Ricardo Peláez at the helm, it’s widely believed that Chivas will go through a complete overhaul during this offseason, which will involve many players departing from the club in search of new opportunities.

“Peláez has proven to be a capable guy and he is also a great person,” Ponce said at Chivas’ pre-match press conference.

“I had to meet him while we were both with the national team and I know the type of person he is and how he works.

“This team will do very well so that in the next few seasons we can get good results.

“There are no words for the fans at the moment. We are embarrassed by the situation that the team is going through, having not been able to qualify for several years.

“We do not fear having to be sold or released. At the end, everyone knows what he has done right or wrong.

“We know that important changes may come, but there have always been changes. After each season, people always leave, new people arrive, and sometime people come back.”

Chivas are seven points outside the Liguilla places with three games to play and will finish the season against Toluca, Querétaro, and Veracruz.
