An Instagram video provided the inspiration for Michail Antonio’s goal celebration, he has revealed.
The West Ham man grabbed the winning goal at Tottenham on Saturday and bizarrely bounced his way towards the away fans following the strike.
Previously Antonio had marked goals in amusing fashion with his antics and did so again at Spurs’ new home.
He has explained how he came up his latest celebration.
“There’s a guy I follow on Instagram and he does some crazy dance moves,” Antonio told West Ham’s official website.
“I saw it on there and thought, ‘you know what, I’m going to do that’. I had to bring it to the game, I had to try it!
“I’m happy to be in the first team to come here and win though. To be the first away player to score is just amazing.
“I like putting myself in history! I’m buzzing to score memorable goals. Hopefully there are more to come.”
In addition to his historic winner across the city, the 29-year-old also scored the Hammers’ first league goal at their own new stadium in Stratford.
