Alejandro Irarragorri, the Mexican tycoon linked with a Newcastle takeover, has dropped a hint that it is very much in his plans.
Last month, the Athletic reported that Irarragorri met with Mike Ashley in London to discuss a deal for the north east giants.
No concrete bid has been made since but in an interview in his homeland, the Mexican has outlined how he would oversee a club like the Magpies.
He has worked with the Mexican Football Association in the past and served on the board at Santos Laguna.
“Owners or responsible guardians of a football club do not take lightly,” he told Cancha, a media outlet in his homeland.
“We understand that at the forefront of business today in the industry, we’re required to be a very efficient and professional institution.
“There are two other factors that are essential, such as the vocation and origin of teams to generate value to their respective communities.
“I mean emotional value, inspiring generations but also economic value in terms of the spill a team generates for its home or region with all of that history.”
An owner who embraces what the club stands for in its local community?
The Magpies faithful will surely be dreaming that it is a move that comes to fruition.
