Newly-promoted Ligue 1 side have rejected a €15m bid for versatile forward Georges Mikautadze (22), according to a report this Thursday from L’Equipe. The 22-year-old Georgian international was elected Ligue 2 Player of the Year after a stellar season with Les Grenats. Mikautadze was a crucial part in Metz’s Ligue 1 promotion charge, logging 23 goals and eight assists in 37 Ligue 2 games. Metz are reportedly holding out for a €20m transfer fee, including bonuses, for their prized asset. Mikautadze reported for pre-season training with Metz this Tuesday.

The 22-year-old is reportedly courted by newly-promoted Premier League side Burnley FC, Serie A outfit SS Lazio and an unnamed German club. L’Équipe understand that Mikautadze allegedly dreams of playing for Lyon. The Georgian international is born in Lyon and spent seven seasons in the famed OL Academy. The Metz striker, able to play on the wing or as a centre-forward, is tied to FC Metz until 2026.
