Metz or Angers? Third tier revelation Esteban Lepaul (23) given days to decide future | OneFootball

According to L’Équipe, FC Metz and Angers are competing for the signature of third tier scoring revelation Esteban Lepaul (23), the Ligue 1 side already finding an agreement with Épinal for their top scorer.

The Ligue 1 side are reportedly in negotiations for the player, a former Lyon academy graduate who is the Championnat National’s (third tier) top scorer this season with 12 goals.

Metz would like to sign the former Orléans man in the summer – leaving Lepaul to finish his current season with Épinal – but they face competition from Ligue 2 side Angers who are pushing to sign the National ace this winter transfer window.

Whilst Épinal have the division’s top scorer in their side, the side promoted from National 2 (fourth tier) sit 18th in the table – second bottom in a league with six relegation spots. The Lorraine-based side are however only four points off safety.

Lepaul has thus been given several days to decide his future: to move to Angers now or potentially Ligue 1 Metz in the summer.
