Al-Ahly already seems to be looking to the future by preparing for life after Wessam Abou Ali. His replacement goes by the name of Hamza Abdelkarim.

Until now a member of the Youth team, Hamza Abdelkarim has just been called up by Jose Riveiro to strengthen the first team. This move comes after the Palestinian striker was excluded from the pre-season training camp, which kicks off this Friday, July 18, in Tabarka (Tunisia).

The technical staff is banking on the 17-year-old forward to support Mohamed Sherif and Nejc Gradišar in the club’s attacking line, should the club fail to recruit a top-class striker to replace Abou Ali.

The Egyptian U17 international has already made an appearance for Al-Ahly’s senior side, coming on in the closing minutes of the match against Petrojet in the Egyptian Premier League.

Some sources have even reported interest from Bayern Munich in the young Egyptian prodigy.
