Barcelona will go into Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League clash against Bayern Munich knowing that anything less than a win could see them get eliminated from the competition.

The Catalans can still go through even if they drop points in Bavaria, provided Benfica lose to Dynamo Kyiv in the other Group E clash. However, the Ukrainian giants have not won a single game in Europe this term and Barca cannot control what happens in the game.

Instead, the focus for Xavi Hernandez & co. needs to be on the task at hand – beat Bayern and qualify to the Round of 16. While the task is easier said than done, the manager is devising plans and strategies to pull off an unlikely victory at the Allianz Arena.

Meanwhile, marquee attacker Memphis Depay has claimed that the players are ready to give it all in their pursuit of a victory, as they seek revenge on Bayern Munich for the humiliating 3-0 defeat in the reverse fixture at Camp Nou earlier this season.

The Netherlands international further added that a team of Barcelona’s stature needs to be in the Champions League and that is what the team will strive to achieve on Wednesday.

“We want revenge against Bayern Munich. We will try our best. Barça always needs to be in the Champions League,” the 27-year-old summer signing said.

Depay seems motivated ahead of the game, but the former Olympique Lyon man will need to step up and deliver big time on the pitch on Wednesday. The Dutchman is yet to score a single goal for Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League this season and was absolutely woeful in the club’s 0-1 defeat to Real Betis in La Liga this past weekend.

Failure to defeat Bayern, coupled with a win for Benfica against Dynamo Kyiv, could see Barcelona finish third in Group E and drop to the UEFA Europa League for the knockout stages.
