West Ham have met with the agent of Jonathan David over a potential move to east London this summer.
Its been reported by club insider ExWHUEmployee that a meeting has taken place, with the club exploring the posibility of landing the striker at the end of the season, however it’s widely expected that there will be fierce competition for his signature.
“It is understood that West Ham have met with the agent of Canadian forward Jonathan David to discuss the possibility of him joining West Ham in the summer when his contract expires,” stated Ex on The West Ham Way. “The chances of signing the Canadian forward from Lille are considered unlikely but of course it is worth a try.
“Jonathan David would be a great solution to our need for a forward and the club are aware of this although there is expected to be competition from a whole host of clubs. David plays in France for Lille and coincidentally another of their players, who is also available for a free in the summer, is a target and that is England international Angel Gomes, although once more he is considered an ambitious target.”
Ex has also advised that the club are looking at other players who are out of contract this summer, including former target Kyle Walker-Peters of Southampton.
“The club are looking at a few potential bargains that could be obtained from the out of contract list,” added ex. “Kyle Walker-Peters is another who we could be tempted by, he is a versatile defender and can be in both full back positions.
“With Southampton almost certain to go down this year a move back to the Premier League could appeal too.
